The Difference between Paleo items, Keto items, Low Carb items, and Lectin-Free items:
- Low-Carb are meals that are very low in carbohydrates. We will not add any sugars, starches or grain products. Although we do not offer a calorie (or macro) count, each meal should contain 30g or less of carbohydrates. We do not count carbohydrates that are part of vegetables, as they are so buffered with fiber that they will not cause an insulin spike, and will allow you to remain in ketosis (fat-burning mode).
- Paleo dishes are very healthy, and people lose weight eating them, they just have more natural sugars and carbohydrates than low-carbohydrate dishes, and thus may yield a more gradual rate of weight loss per week. You can enjoy lots of different carbohydrates on Paleo. Paleo dishes are made using only natural ingredients. No processed or artificial ingredients are used. If you’re looking for a long-term lifestyle change, Paleo is the way to go.
- Lectin-Free (plant-paradox) dishes are great for weight loss, but they focus more on restoring health. So, if restoring your health is your goal, then following the Plant Paradox diet and avoiding lectins is the way to go.
- KETO dishes are made with the goal of getting you into ketosis (fat-burning mode) and keeping you there. Keto dishes normally contain higher amounts of fat than low-carbohydrate dishes. We try to eliminate all carbohydrates when preparing keto dishes, and also limit the amount of protein, as too much protein can also cause an insulin spike in your blood sugar and throw you out of ketosis. This is a low-carb, low-protein, high-fat, high-vegetable diet.
