Carne Mechada Shredded Beef

Carne Mechada is Spanish for “Shredded Meat”.  It is a popular way to cook beef in Venezuela and throughout South America. What my customers like most about this dish, aside from the fact that it’s packed with flavor, is that it can be part of a low-carb diet.

Traditionally Carne Mechada is served with cumin black beans and rice, but can be paired just as well alongside steamed vegetables or creamed spinach.
