Frequently Asked Questions

What is a personal chef?

A personal chef is a professional that comes into your home to prepare a variety of meals based on your specific preferences or dietary needs. The personal chef does the planning, the shopping, the cooking, and the clean up. The food is packaged into containers that are labeled with clear heating instructions, and stored in your refrigerator or freezer to be heated and eaten at your convenience. You enjoy the convenience of having delicious meals prepared in the safety and comfort of your home, according to your likes.

What kind of food do you specialize in?

This is a very individualized service. Each menu is planned around your preferences and dietary needs. The chef is a professional and is constantly coming up with new recipes. To give you an example, we prepare about 2000 different recipes each year. So Chef Cristian is well versed in most types of cuisines! You will have MANY dishes to choose from! If you tell us that you like Italian food then we will include Italian dishes in your menu. If you like Mediterranean cuisine then we will include Mediterranean dishes in your menu, and so on. With the fresh produce, variety of meats and tantalizing seafood that Florida provides us, the possibilities are endless!

Do I have to sign a contract?

With Tampa Bay Chef Services you are not forced into any contracts. You can simply contact us when you need us. Once you become a regular client and you prefer a specific day for your service, then that will be noted and that will be reserved as your day.

Do all the meals have to be frozen?

No. Our goal is to provide you with fresh meals that you do not have to freeze. However, if you know that you’re not going to eat all of the meals within 4 or 5 days, then we would suggest freezing foods to be enjoyed at a later time.
If the average meal package is consumed within 5 days, no freezing is required.

Can I Afford it?

Absolutely! Most of our clients are surprised to find out just how affordable this service is. A personal chef is no longer just for the rich and famous. Simply add how much money you spend on eating out during the week, not to mention the unhealthy choices made when eating out. It’s common for an American family to spend over $1000 per month on groceries and restaurant meals. They also spend an average of 1.9 hours per day on cooking, washing up, and preparing meals. Add to that the grocery shopping, line-ups and parking. Multiply that by 20 days, that’s 38 hours plus, per month. It all depends on what an extra 38 hours is worth to you. A personal chef can not only save you money but can save you time.

And if you’re now eating healthier, home-cooked foods with high-quality ingredients, note that your health-care expenses will likely diminish over time. If you invest in good food, you invest in your health!
